It was hot, very hot. It was the long hot summer of 1976 and on the dancefloor of Bluto’s nightclub in Wigan it was even hotter. It reached boiling point when the DJ played this record.
The cool fuckers had always loved Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. They still did. There was something in the air. Just around the corner. History and hindsight tells us we knew this. I’m not sure. What I am sure about is that this song is utterly magnificent. Ferry at his solo best, in his white suit and Jerry Hall at 1:55 in the video. Wow.
