Alex’s recent debut EP ‘Inside World’ was written and self-produced at his home studio. The EP, which was released on his own label Pling Recordings, lifted effortlessly from diverse musical worlds – 70s psychedelic soul, sun-kissed folk-rock and jazz fusion to name just a few – and found Alex confiding stories from the fringes of London life amidst his beautiful, warm production. Alex will announce details of his second EP next month meanwhile here is a reaction to ‘Inside World’ EP “Suggests a musical mind of much imagination and inventiveness. ‘Inside World’ is charming, with bags of sun-kissed soul, instrumental flourishes and melodic filigrees that’ll stay with you for a long time after hearing them”. NME “Appeared out of thin air with two of the most beautiful, warm and evocative tracks of last year…” i-D “One of the most exciting young talents we’ve encountered”. Hunger “Thank God for Alex Burey… a glimpse into true teen romance”. The Guardian
