Nobody needs an excuse to post an image of Christine Keeler on their blog.
She is one of the most beautiful women of her (or any) time and an iconic figure of the sixties.
But to justify this post may I point out there is a new book on the whole Profumo affair.
By Richard Davenport-Hines it is entitled: An English Affair: Sex, Class and Power in the Age of Profumo.
The reviews have been excellent and – if like me you love the sixties and all that went on during this period – then this is a must-read.
There are a load of reviews out there but here is the one from The Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/historybookreviews/9756595/An-English-Affair-by-Richard-Davenport-Hines-review.html
‘An English Affair: Sex, Class and Power in the Age of Profumo’ by Richard Davenport-Hines is published by HarperPress, £20, 400pp
